Setup
First up—what browser do you use on your mobile devices?
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to install the Deep Link Generator on that same browser on desktop.
The process varies a bit by device and browser, but the key takeaway here is this: If the browser you have the deep link generator installed on desktop matches the browser you use on mobile, you’re golden! Navigate to your bookmarks in your browser on mobile and you’ll see it there. Note that you may need to change cloud settings for your browser on your phone or tablet to ensure that your bookmarks are showing up across your devices.
Example: If you have the DLG installed on Chrome on desktop, you’ll be able to access it in Chrome on your phone or tablet as well. Simply navigate to your bookmarks in Chrome on your mobile device or tablet and you’ll see a bookmark called “CJ Deep Link”. Click this to generate your link! Full steps are outlined below.
Things can get a little trickier with device specific browsers such as Safari i.e. if you have a PC and don’t have access to Safari on your computer, you won’t be able to place the DLG on Safari to see it show up on mobile. In this case, it may be simpler to use a browser that works across operating systems for the DLG.
Once you’ve confirmed that you have the deep link generator installed on the same browser on desktop that you use on mobile, here’s how to generate a deep link on mobile:
iPhone or iPad
- Using the browser app of your choice, visit the specific product page of the brand partner you’d like to link to.
- Access your mobile bookmarks. On Chrome, click (…) in the bottom right-hand corner and select bookmarks. On Safari, click the book icon > favorites.
- Select CJ Deep Link
- The DLG will populate! If you’re not already logged in, it will prompt you for your credentials.
- Customize your deep link URL by selecting the appropriate Promotional Propertythat you’ll be using.
Android
- In the Google Chrome App, visit the specific product page of the brand partner you’d like to link to.
- In the browser bar, search CJ Deep Link. Note: star on the left indicates that it’s bookmarked
- Select bookmarked Deep Link Generator
- The DLG will populate! If you’re not already logged in, it will prompt you for your credentials.
- Customize your URL by selecting the appropriate Promotional Property that you’ll be using.
